Biological Age Calculator
This biological age calculator gives an estimate of how old your body seems, compared with your age on the calendar. It uses everyday measures you can find at home or from a recent checkup, such as resting heart rate, blood pressure, waist size, activity, sleep and smoking. The result is a rough guide for reflection, not a medical diagnosis.

Estimated biological age
A rough guide for reflection, not a medical test. Talk with a doctor about any health concern.
Your chronological age is fixed by your date of birth, but people of the same age can be in very different shape. Researchers call the body’s functional age biological age, and they measure it in labs with blood markers and DNA tests. An online biological age calculator cannot match a lab test, but it can show which habits pull your estimate up or down.

How to Use the Biological Age Calculator
Enter your date of birth and answer the short set of health questions, using recent numbers where you have them. Leave a field blank if you do not know it, and the tool falls back on averages for your age and sex. Press Calculate to see an estimated biological age along with the factors that had the biggest effect.
The answers stay in your browser and are not stored on our servers. Each factor shows a short note explaining why it matters, such as how resting heart rate reflects heart fitness. You can change one answer at a time to see how much a single habit shifts the estimate.

Biological Age vs Chronological Age
Chronological age is the time since birth, the number the age calculator on this site produces from a date. Biological age describes how your cells, organs and systems are functioning relative to typical people of different ages. A 50 year old with the fitness and blood markers of a typical 42 year old has a biological age near 42.
The gap between the two numbers is what researchers find interesting. A biological age above the chronological age has been linked in studies to higher risk of age related disease, while a lower one is linked to better outcomes. The estimate from a biological age calculator is most useful when you track it over time rather than reading it once.

How Scientists Measure Biological Age
The most studied tools are epigenetic clocks, which read chemical tags called methyl groups on DNA. Steve Horvath published one of the first widely used clocks in 2013, and later versions such as PhenoAge and GrimAge were designed to predict health outcomes, not just age. A newer measure, DunedinPACE, estimates how fast a person is aging right now.
Other approaches combine standard blood tests, such as glucose, cholesterol and markers of inflammation and kidney function. Telomere length was once popular but has proved less reliable for individuals. Consumer kits now sell epigenetic tests by mail, though results can vary between companies.

Factors That Change the Estimate
Regular exercise, especially activities that raise cardiovascular fitness, has some of the strongest links to a younger biological age. Not smoking, keeping blood pressure in a healthy range and maintaining a stable waist size also matter a great deal. Sleep, diet quality and long term stress round out the main lifestyle factors.
Some influences are outside your control, including genetics and early life conditions. That is why two people with similar habits can still get different results from a biological age calculator. Focus on the factors you can change, and talk with a doctor about any health concerns the results raise.

Photo Age and Mental Age Tools
Some websites estimate age from a face photo using machine learning, and these tools are popular for fun. They judge visible signs such as skin texture and wrinkles, which say little about internal health. This site does not ask for photos, so nothing personal is uploaded.
Mental age tests are another popular search, usually short quizzes about preferences and habits. The term mental age comes from early intelligence testing, where it described the age level of a child’s test performance. Modern quizzes using the name are entertainment rather than scientific measurement.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is biological age?
Biological age is an estimate of how old your body seems based on health measures rather than your birth date. It can be higher or lower than your chronological age. Labs measure it with blood tests or DNA methylation.
How accurate is an online biological age calculator?
Online tools give a rough estimate based on general research, not a clinical measurement. They are useful for spotting habits that matter and for tracking changes. Lab based tests are more precise but still vary.
Can you lower your biological age?
Studies suggest regular exercise, not smoking, good sleep and healthy blood pressure are linked to a younger biological age. Changes usually show up over months, not days. Results vary from person to person.
What is the difference between biological age and chronological age?
Chronological age counts the years since birth. Biological age reflects how well the body is functioning compared with typical people of each age. The two can differ by several years.
Is there a free biological age test?
This biological age calculator is free and uses information you already have. Laboratory epigenetic tests usually cost money and require a blood or saliva sample. Ask your doctor before relying on any test for health decisions.
